As the current president of the Morristown Chapter of the AALNC, I would like to take this
opportunity to extend a warm welcome to all members and guests
attending our meetings. I strongly encourage all who are seriously
contemplating making legal nurse consulting an integral part of
their careers to become active participants of the chapter. One of
the major advantages of joining the chapter is there is a diverse
group of nurses who are always willing to share their considerable
expertise with anyone who asks. Being a member provides an excellent
opportunity for education, networking and fellowship with
like-minded individuals.
The National Education Conference
will be taking place in Tampa, Florida April 9-12 and it promises to
be an exciting event which has something of interest for everyone.
For those who are not able to attend, CDs of the conference will be
available for purchase through national.
I have been a practicing LNC for 22
years and am still learning from my colleagues. Although we are
somewhat early in the calendar year, we have lined up a slate of
speakers for upcoming meetings which promises to be informative and
exciting. In addition, over the next couple of months the board will
be actively planning an educational session to be held in the Fall
(date to be announced) which will provide educational opportunities
for novices and experienced LNC’s alike.
Lastly, I would like to encourage
those of you that are members of the chapter to join our national
organization, AALNC.org. Becoming a member of national provides you
with a wealth of practice resources, legislative updates and general
information. Your dues dollars helps to keep your organizations
strong both at the local and national levels.
I look forward to meeting more of you
at upcoming Morristown Chapter meetings, see you May 13, 2008 at the
Rutgers Club, 199 College Ave New Brunswick, N.J.
Sincerely,
Shirley White-Walker
